The Pacific Northwest design and building community lost an exceptional leader with the recent passing of Robert Neal Shrosbree FASLA. His professionalism, enthusiasm, and leadership in the field of landscape architecture and beyond will be deeply missed. After a brief battle with cancer, Bob, 58, passed away on Friday, December 30, surrounded by his family.
Bob served on the AIA Seattle Board of Directors from 2007-2011 and served on the AIA Seattle Public Policy Board. His company, SiteWorkshop, has been an AIA Seattle Corporate Allied Partner since 2004.
“Bob was such a collaborative thinker, and his gift of bringing together diverse professions and ideas has had a lasting impact on our design community”, said Lisa Richmond, Executive Director of AIA Seattle. “He believed in the value of ideas and the power of working together. His was such a unique voice in our community and it's hard to imagine not having him here.”
“What I loved about Bob outside of his professionalism and intellect was his great sense of humor. He made people around him smile.” Said AIA Seattle Board member Dan Say, of Swenson Say Fagét. “I will miss him so very much. “
From pulling together AIA Seattle’s Park(ing) Day effort to helping craft AIA Seattle’s public policy positions, Bob was a vital member of our community who will be remembered fondly.
